What order should I read in?

Start with Kaine’s Sanction (Book 1). From there, read forward in publication order.
If you prefer to binge, you can start with the Invasion Omnibus (Books 1–4 + short stories), which contains the opening arc in one package.

Are these books standalones or a continuous series?

Both. Each novel is a complete story with a real ending—no cliffhangers—but the series also builds a larger, escalating conflict across multiple books. You can stop after any book and feel satisfied, or keep going for the bigger picture.

Is the series finished?

The broader Shattered Empire universe may continue—I have more stories to tell in it.
However, the Kaine opening saga is designed as a complete arc (and it will be fully in place once Kaine’s Crucible is published).

What is Kaine’s Crucible?

Kaine’s Crucible is an origin story that leads into Kaine’s Sanction. It will be added to the store after Kickstarter fulfilment, and this page will be updated with a Starter Bundle that includes Crucible + Sanction.
